When convergence goes a bit nutty
Posted by: Ron in Remix culture, podcasting, podcasts, videoOkay, am I missing something here? Help me.
What’s the value of a website that shows “the most popular and best videos” on YouTube? And why do you need a site to do this for you when YouTube allows you to sort by popularity?
I see there’s also a ‘Best of YouTube’ podcast in the iTunes Store.
Umm…hmm.

Hey Ron,
I think you’re right about “Best of YouTube” - it is “a bit nutty” in that the interface, at first glance at least, offers significantly less than YouTube itself.
I do like one idea behind it, though: taking a big set of information that someone else has put together, and re-visualizing it.
A better example of this, I think, is something like del.icio.us director, which takes your del.icio.us bookmarks, and gives you a whole new way to see, browse, and interact with them.
