If you want people to subscribe to your podcasts, don’t bury the feed URL too deep within the directory structure of your website. It should be at the homepage of your site or off a ‘podcasts’ page. The feed URL should be short and easy to remember. Something like http://www.yoursite.edu/podcasts/feed.xml.

This is a great tip! Of course, sometimes you may not have complete control over your podcast URL. Some podcast services give you a podcast URL that is 10 miles long, making it a bit more difficult for users to subscribe to your podcast and share it with others. If you’ve got a URL you’d like to shorten, you can use http://tinyurl.com to turn your giant podcast feed into a short, manageable one. This will make it easier to send the feed by email, or subscribe in an aggregator.
